My grandchildren love it already. Mouse, is often depicted heroically large relative to Lion. He is prolific. Pinkney but to point out that his newest book has a singular ability to do something most artists do not even hope to try for.

Spreads in watercolor and pencil employ a palette of glowing amber, mouse-brown and blue-green. The nice thing about The Lion and the Mouse is that it hooks you from the cover onward. The classic moral resounds here: No act of kindness is ever wasted. The mouse lino through the rope of the net, freeing the lion.
