Beau is your typical awkward and lanky teenage boy -- with the WWE references to prove it -- who falls in love with the pretty untouchable of the school, Edythe Cullen. From there, you pretty much know how this love story is gonna go. Boy meets girl, girl struggles not to eat boy in biology class, girl saves boy from imminent death multiple times , boy and girl eventually fall in love, defeat a thirsty vampire tracker, etc. As Meyer noted in her forward of the novel, she wanted to take on the task of gender-flipping the characters of "Twilight" to dispel the notion that Bella was a stereotypical damsel in distress who found self-worth in the arms of a handsome man. Would the narrative still be the same if the roles were reversed?
