So, here at Success we are starting with a massive Heroes and Villains themed Storytime this morning Tuesday 29 November and Friday 2 December at am. Come along and hear some of the books and rhymes below and sign up to the SRC for fun and activities while Storytime takes a break from Wednesday 14 December. This book is a delightful read for children and adults with lots of picture based humour. Our main character believes they have superpowers like becoming invisible and communicating with plants animals were too hard but we see through the pictures what they are actually doing and children will find that quite funny.

As part of our celebration of World Book Day , we have invited poet Ian Bland to spend the day in school on Wednesday, 27th February. He will be delivering poetry workshops throughout the school and finishing off the day with a presentation of the children's work to family and friends. At the end of the day, he will be selling signed copies of his books in the small hall so come along and meet him!

You would be right. Instead of the work, the photographs are of the actual artists, most of them taken when they were on the cusp of their current careers. Being based in Los Angeles lent the project an important local flavor. In fact, the prints of the project first debuted at Corey Helford Gallery and the Beyond Eden contemporary art fair. Many of the people photographed for the book have since skyrocketed to the tops of curators lists' worldwide, like Retna and Liz McGrath, while it also reminds us of modern influences like Robert Williams, Matt Groening, Mark Ryden and Tony Millionaire. As you page through the simple compositions and the strong visual personalities, one appreciates how much the artists actually remind you of their creations, kind of how people resemble their pets.
